Created for Communion: Walking with God in Prayer and Presence
Day 2: Fellowship Before Responsibility Reading: Genesis 3:8-9; Micah 6:8
Devotional:
In the Garden of Eden, before there was a temple, a sacrifice, or a religious system, there was simply a man and his God walking together in the cool of the day. God's first design for humanity was not a workforce -- it was a family. He wanted to walk with Adam. He wanted to commune with Eve. Responsibility came, but relationship came first. Micah 6:8 reminds us that what God requires is not merely moral performance but humble, daily walking with Him. The same God who walked in that garden is the same God who calls you to walk with Him today. He has not changed His desire. The question is whether yours has changed.
Reflection:
Have you allowed the responsibilities of your Christian life -- serving, attending, giving, doing -- to crowd out the relationship those responsibilities are meant to flow from? Where have you placed duty ahead of devotion?
Practical Application:
Set aside ten minutes today with no agenda, no prayer list, and no requests. Simply sit in God's presence. If words come, let them be words of gratitude. Practice what it means to seek His face rather than His hand.
